Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about resizing images online.

Is this image resizer really free? +

Yes, completely free. There are no hidden fees, no watermarks on your output, and no account required. The tool is supported by non-intrusive ads.

Do you upload my images to a server? +

No. All resizing happens locally in your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. Your images are never transmitted over the internet and remain completely private.

Will resizing reduce my image quality? +

We use high-quality canvas rendering. If you export as PNG, there is no quality loss whatsoever (lossless). If you export as JPG, you can control the quality with the slider — we recommend 85–95% for a good balance of quality and file size.

What image formats are supported? +

You can upload any image your browser supports — typically JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, and BMP. You can export the resized result as either PNG or JPG.

Why does my image have white bars on the sides? +

If your image's aspect ratio doesn't match the chosen preset, we add white padding (letterboxing) to fill the canvas without cropping or distorting your image. This is the standard approach used by most social media scheduling apps.

Can I resize an image to a custom size? +

Currently, the tool offers four popular social media presets. Custom dimension input is on our roadmap. In the meantime, you can use the presets which cover the most common use cases.

Does this work on mobile? +

Yes. QuickImageTools works on any device with a modern browser, including iPhones, Android phones, and tablets. The interface adapts to your screen size automatically.

What is the maximum file size I can upload? +

There's no enforced file size limit — it's only bounded by your browser's memory. In practice, files up to 20–30 MB work fine on most devices. Very large images (50 MB+) may be slow on older hardware.
